I’ve always loved being inside. Even as a young child, my mom has memories of me coming in from playing tag because, “MOM, I’m SWEATING!” Sweat has always been a big problem for me. I sweat profusely. It’s disgusting. Especially since it seems to primarily pour down my face. It pools in the bottom of the bra cups. Sick. Sick. Sick.

It’s not like I haven’t had opportunities to learn to love the outside. Growing up, we’d go camping every weekend. It was my dad’s idea of a family vacation. He spent thousands of dollars (I’m guessing, I have no idea) so we could live like pioneers. However, anytime the campground had horseback riding, I would force him to let me do it under the condition I would complain much less about being outside.

Time I Spent Not Inside – Also Known As Outside

I was a Girl Scout too. We camped. I even went to a two week Girl Scout camp. I remember trying to fake heat exhaust to go inside to the infirmary where there was air conditioning.

Over the weekend, our Girl Scout unit held Fun O Ree. It’s a weekend camping trip with lots of fun activities. Even though I don’t like being outside, I always loved Fun O Ree as a girl. I even encouraged all of the parents in our Daisy troop to let their daughters experience it (Daisy’s only go for the day on Saturday – no camping) letting them know how much I loved it as a girl.

This was my first time going as an adult and it wasn’t as fun for me. LOL The troop who hosted did a WONDERFUL job and our girls said they had an amazing time, but this was my first trip as an adult. Dealing with whining, crying, fussing girls all day while I’m battling the elements was a struggle.

Ahhh The Other Struggles Of Being Outside

Allergies have also been an issue for me. My eyes get red and I struggle to breathe and have horrible headaches. This spring (or alleged spring!? LOL) has been awful for my headaches. I’ve even woken up in the middle of the night with a throbbing head. Super not fun.

A friend recently told someone, “Heather is what we call ‘indoorsy.'” HA! She’s not wrong. I do best when I’m inside a temperature controlled room with flushing toilets and bottled water. Comfy seating arrangements are encouraged to complete my delightful inside experience. 🙂

So this summer you’ll find me inside, sipping my water and enjoying the A/C!
